REFUREC Secretariat handover – Ireland

At our recent workshop in Denmark (Sept 2019), we have successfully transferred the REFUREC Secretariat to Ireland’s National Oil Reserves Agency.

NORA, (National Oil Reserves Agency), the competent authority for administering compliance with Ireland’s renewable fuels legislation will take on the role of Secretariat for the next two years. Having participated in REFUREC since its inception, Ireland highly values this unique forum for co-operation among Member States and for sharing information and best practices. The team would hope to continue and build upon good work undertaken by REFUREC to date. Speaking on behalf of NORA, Frank Bergin praised the valuable work of the previous Secretariats and is looking forward to maintaining and developing further co-operation with the Member States in an open, fruitful and co-operative spirit. We are excited to be working with all REFUREC participants in dealing with the many challenges that will arise in our collective efforts to achieve our renewable energy targets in the years to come.
